A major rail accident was averted in Bihar’s Bagaha when a 12-year-old boy spotted damaged track and alerted rail authorities just before a train was to pass.
According to reports, a 12-year-old boy named Bhim spotted a damaged track near Avsani Halt station in Bagaha and rushed to a gateman to inform him. The gateman then approached railway officials who managed to stop 55072 Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj local train just in time.
Bhim told reporters that he first thought of stopping the train himself but realised that it would be too late. The kid then rushed to the gateman informing about the damaged rail track.
Bhim said he was inspired a boy of a nearby village who had prevented a rail accident. “I had heard about a boy who averted a rail accident in the nearby village. Since then, I wanted to do something similar so that people appreciate me,” he said.
Meanwhile, the railways has initiated a probe into the incident. Read More
