Rail commuters are facing inconvenience due to delay in the arrival of most Ludhiana-bound trains on Friday, as 15 trains arrived late by almost two to three hours, which angered passengers waiting for them on different platforms of the city railway station.
Passengers waiting for trains from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh seemed more impatient, as trains coming from the eastern part of the country faced maximum delay. Amritsar-Howrah Express from Howrah to Amritsar arrived more than seven hours late at 12.50pm, instead of 5.40am.
Ludhiana railway station superintendent Ashok Salaria stated: “Due to some construction works of limited height subways in the Northern Railways route, several long distance trains arrived late by several hours here on Friday.
Another reason for the delay of long route trains is the heavy rush due to summer vacations, as several summer special trains were started by Northern Railways for the convenience of passengers.” Read More
