From an innovative travel timetable to a cut-down on the running time of long-distance trains, the Railways ministry headed by Piyush Goyal is all set for a major revamp with an extensively revised programme.
According to The Indian Express, the national transporter is incorporating measures that can increase the average speed of existing trains and in turn bring down journey time for passengers.
With that, close to 500 trains are to have their running time knocked down to 120 minutes, via increased speed. A detailed plan has already been prepared by the railway authorities, which is to be incorporated in the ‘Trains at a Glance’ timetable by November 30 and made effective by December. Read More…
