Over 52,000 streetlights across the city will be fitted with LED bulbs at an expenditure of Rs19 crore. The project got the green signal during the civic standing committee meeting on Thursday.
“This project is important for the city to get better quality streetlights. It will also save power and bring down the amount of public money used on electricity bills for streetlights,” said Yogesh Mulik, chairman of the committee, while speaking to mediapersons.
“Top priority will be given to the streetlight poles, which don’t have bulb fixtures. The civic body has planned to install more streetlights in the next financial year. The LEDs will be fitted on those poles too. Read More
