The Northern Railways has cancelled eight trains on the Jalandhar-Haridwar route from October 13 to 22. The authorities at Firozpur railway division informed that due to the upgradation work at Laskar station, the trains on the Jalandhar-Haridwar or Haridwar-Jalandhar routes would not run for 10 days.
The traffic blockade would continue till October 21. The trains leaving from Jalandhar would be partially off track. The Jan Shatabdi express and Jammu Tavi would be cancelled from October 13-22. However, Hemkunt express and Amritsar-Dehradun express would be cancelled from October 16- 21.The railway authorities have also issued the complete list of cancelled trains so that they could make their arrangements on alternate trains. As the railway traffic was thrown out of gear from today, the passengers not aware about the trains status remained a harried lot at the city railway station. Some of the passengers who failed to travel by Jan Shatabdi and opted for alternate trains said the blockade had also affected other trains as they were delayed by many hours.
