In a step to meet the growing demand of electricity in the country, Bangladesh is planning to buy 2,000MW of solar power from India, a move that will deepen energy sector co-operation between the two South Asian countries that will aid the region in sustainable development.

The power will be bought from large solar power projects coming up in Gujarat and Rajasthan states, reports a media quoted Prime Minister’s Energy Adviser Tawfiq-e- Elahi.
According to the report, India is also pursuing long-term deals with Bangladeshi companies for supplying domestic cooking gas and other petroleum products. Read More
