Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is proposed to construct 12 underground metro stations along the 72.1 km phase II corridor. The corridor will run along Nagawara-Gottigere route.
The stations will be smaller than the UG (Under Ground) stations from Phase I, there are currently seven underground stations in Phase I, of which five of them are 272 metres long and 24 metres wide, and two are 240 metres long and 24 metres wide. The 12 new UG stations under phase II will be 210 metres long and 24 metres wide.
The decision to go with smaller stations can be that most of the land acquired in phase-I is government land while much of the land in phase II is private land. Read More
