The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply Transport (BEST) bus employees strike continued to affect routine commuters on Wednesday. The Central Railway took a decision to run extra sub-services to cater to the demands of stranded commuters who struggled to reach offices on time.
While no untoward incident has been reported so far, 10 buses were ransacked in different depots across the city. The employee union has not yet indicated when the strike would be called off.
Meanwhile, the Central Railway, Western Railway and the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) have been operating extra trains and buses to ferry commuters. “In view of BEST buses strike Mumbai Division will run extra sub-services.
