Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court on Tuesday disposed of a PIL opposing Adani Group’s plans to set up a mine in Lohara west area which is located close to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).
A division bench comprising justices Sunil Shukre and Shreeram Modak decided to end the nine-year-old PIL after petitioners counsel Neeraj Khandewale informed that the Union ministry had already cancelled the coal block allotted to the Adani group. The judges observed that nothing has been left in the plea and it had become infructuous.
