Piyush Goyal-led Indian Railways, in a passenger friendly move, has decided to extend 22 pairs of train services. The move is aimed at better utilising the lie-over period of the Indian Railways rolling stock.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that the national transporter is experimenting with extension of trains. He cited the example of extending Gatimaan Express to first Gwalior and then Jhansi. Goyal added that this helps the Indian Railways in “sweating its assets” better.
The list of 22 pairs of train services that have been extended includes trains on important routes. Several MEMUs and Humsafar Express trains across the network have been extended. The full list of 22 pairs of trains which have been extended, along with their additional stoppages are given below: Read More
