Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said the Central government is formulating a plan to lay LPG pipeline in 13 districts of Punjab. Speaking at a function in Mohali, he said the facility will be first provided in Mohali district. Mr Pradhan said, gas supply through pipelines will lessen the economic burden on people.
He also laid the foundation stone of the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) for Women in Mohali. This is the first NSTI Institute for Punjab and only one of its kind in India which is exclusively for women. Mr Pradhan also launched a unique Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) which would admit differently abled persons as well, also a first of its kind in India at Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, that NSTI for women and PMKK for differently abled in Mohali are being launched under “Skill India” initiative of the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said NSTI at Mohali will go a long way in setting the skill standards in the country and create appropriate skilled youth suitable for employment.
