Centre is intending to move towards Gas based economy by increasing the share of Natural Gas in India’s energy basket from present 6-7 per cent to 15 per cent by the year 2022, Union Petroleum and Natrural Gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.
Addressing a road show here today to sensitise the stakeholders to participate in the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation(SATAT) initiative,Mr Pradhan said.
With the rising demand for Natural Gas in transport & industrial sector, Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) has been identified as a potential route, he said, adding that to promote CBG production in the Country, an innovative initiative ‘SATAT’ was launched by his ministry in October last. Read More
