Northern Railway has chalked out a revised plan for the Chandigarh-Baddi line after facing an issue of connectivity near Panchkula national highway. T P Singh, general manager, Northern Railway, said in the revised plan, the alignment of the track is different due to which there will be a cut down of 6-7km.
He said while reviewing the project, the officers found that there are patches which will be susceptible in flood-like situations. It was decided that railways will construct bridges in this area to avoid any problem in future, he said.
GM added that the revised proposal has been sent to the higher authorities for a final nod.To speed up the land acquisition process for Chandigarh-Baddi railway line, Union railway ministry had given a special status to the project around three months ago. Read More
