The Union Territory administration has decided to review all pending cases of solar subsidy. This comes after TOI highlighted how city residents have been waiting for solar subsidy for more than a year.
Confirming the development, Debendra Dalai, Director, UT environment department, and CEO, Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (Crest), said they would review all pending cases and subsidy would be released to all eligible applicants. A meeting was also held with the UT electricity department on Thursday to simplify the process for getting required approval from the electricity department, he added.
He said that during the last 2-3 months, the subsidy files were not process because of the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, but now all files would be processed on a priority basis. Read More
