As pilgrims gear up to visit Sabarimala this month, the Southern Railways has introduced special fare trains from Chennai to help them reach the hill shrine in Kerala. The trains will be operated between Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai and Kollam from mid November to early December.
Here are the details of the trains, introduced by the Indian Railways for pilgrims travelling between Chennai and Sabarimala.
Trains between Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram
The Southern Railways will be operating two special fare trains between Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. The trains are scheduled to depart from the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M G Ramachandran Chennai Central station at 7 pm on November 21 and 28 and will reach Trivandrum at 11.45 am on November 22 and 29 respectively.
The special train will make stops at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Palakkad in Kerala. Read More
