Coal India has supplied 407.02 million tonnes coal to power sector in the current year, a growth of 7.3% over the same period last year, a statement issued by the coal ministry said.
As on Feb 4, the average rake loading of Coal India to power sector including loading from washeries and good-sheds is 252.5 rakes per day, growth of 13% over same period of last year, the statement said.
The supply is likely to further increase after opening of the Dhanbad-Chandrapura line which shall facilitate faster evacuation of coal from Bharat Coking Coal Limited subsidiary of CIL. Read More
