The government has completed the work of setting up a solar plant at the modern central jail at Colvale.
The central jail is the sixth government office to take the green step, and it also has the largest grid-connected solar plant installed by any state government office in Goa till date.
With an installed capacity of 100KW, the roof top solar installation is already functional and is expected to be connected to the state’s electricity grid in the next few days. Once the installation is fitted with a bidirectional meter, the solar power generated by it will be fed to the electricity grid and used for the power consumption needs of the jail. Read more
