Assam, the state where oil was discovered and produced for the first time in the country more that a century ago, will have the first Oil Museum in the country.
All major oil and gas PSUs of the country – ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL and EIL are coming together for this project, which was launched by Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan here yesterday.
“The national oil museum will preserve the history of the oil industry in the country and create awareness among the people about the richness of the industry’s heritage,” Pradhan said.
“It will showcase how technology was used to drill the first oil in Digboi in eastern fringe of Assam and the century-old oil refinery there is still functional,” he added. Read More
