Special tracks will be laid for a journey from Delhi to Howrah in 12 hours, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said in a major announcement on Friday. Trains would run at speed of 160 kmph on this track. The 1,525-km long Delhi-Howrah Route passes through five states, namely Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
On average, a train journey from Delhi to Howrah (Delhi-Kolkata) takes anything between 18 to 20 hours. Railways minister announcement will give a huge boost to commuters plying on this route. Piyush Goyal made the big announcement through a tweet. Read More
