Delhi-Meerut Expressway’s eight-kilometre stretch in Ghaziabad is set to miss it April deadline as only 45 per cent work on the road is complete till now. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is sticking to its April-end deadline. However, the work on the expressway is far from over.
It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 14-lane, access controlled, Phase-I of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, stretching from Nizamuddin Bridge to Delhi UP Border, in May last year. Once completed, this expressway will significantly reduce travel from Delhi to Meerut by 45 minutes.
