Logistics major DHL and Rail Cargo Group (RCG), the freight division of the Austrian Federal Railways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish new rail route across six countries, tracing the Silk Road Economic Belt.
The move is aimed to develop an intermodal rail network between Austria and China, tapping into rising trade along China’s Silk Road Economic Belt between Europe and Asia.
The Silk Road Economic Belt is the land-based component that together with the oceanic Maritime Silk Road forms One Belt, One Road, a Chinese government economic development framework for primarily integrating trade and investment in Eurasia. Read More
