If you have to wait for more than five minutes for a ticket at a suburban railway station on Western Railway (WR), you can complain about the same to authorities on 9004499990. A new initiative kick-started by WR aims at ensuring that every commuter gets a ticket within five minutes. On a pilot basis, the project is being started at Andheri station, where two additional facilitators have been appointed along with additional ticketing windows to cater to the morning rush hours.
The Railway Board (RB) has issued a circular allowing not only retired railway employees but also their spouses and adult children to be deployed as facilitators dispensing tickets from Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM) at stations. Read More
