Union road transport minister, Nitin Gadkari said that there is an immense potential for production of bio-fuel in Chattisgarh. In a gathering at Charoda, Chattisgarh, Gadkari claimed said that use of alternative fuels will help people against sky-high petrol diesel prices, reported Press Trust of India.
He further added that biofuel production will also create job opportunities for farmers, tribals and forest dwellers.It may be noted that biofuel from Jatropha plant in Chattisgarh was used to power a flight from Dehradun to Delhi for the first time recently.
Gadkari was cited in the agency report saying that a research institute on biotechnology should be set up in Raipur in order to help the state produce alternative fuels in the country. He claimed that Diesel will be available at Rs 50 per litre and petrol at Rs 55 per litre. Read More
