State-run oil marketing companies on Wednesday (August 14) kept the retail prices of petrol and diesel unchanged for the second successive day across major cities of the country. In national capital Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs Rs 71.99 a litre while diesel costs Rs 65.43 per litre, no change compared with yesterday’s price.
Following the daily revision in retail fuel rates, diesel rates were lowered by 6 paise on Monday. Worth mentioning here is that due to lower taxes in Delhi, fuel prices are the cheapest in the Capital among all metros and most state capitals. So far this month, the pump price of petrol fell by 81 paise per litre and that of diesel by 57 paise a litre.
In Mumbai, citizens have to shell out Rs 77.65 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 68.60 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website.
