Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) officials and Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE) are working on different strategies to put several pending projects on track and complete them within the revised deadlines. Projects stuck in a limbo in the state include the MMTS Phase-II and track works.
To make these projects a reality, the executing bodies, RVNL and CORE, have to ensure better coordination with various departments to resolve several issues like land acquisition, allocation of funds from the state government, getting forest and wildlife clearances to implement the projects, crossing of electrical high-tension lines and shifting of telecom and signal cables, railway officials. At a recent meeting with RVNL and CORE representatives, South Central Railway (SCR) general manager stressed on the need for optimum utilisation of the allocated resources . Apart from the commissioning of MMTS Phase-II, the other projects that have lost steam due to various reasons are tripling works between Kazipet-Vijayawada and Kazipet-Balharshah. Read more
