EESL Conducting Feasibility Study On Lighting Project In The Southeast Asian Country

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has initiated a feasibility study on the prospects of launching efficient domestic lighting programme in the Southeast Asian country.

“A feasibility study is underway in Vietnam, funded by the United Nations Environment Programme, on the possibility of launching country-wide efficient domestic lighting programme,” EESL CGM (technical) S P Garnaik told PTI.

He said an agreement with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) was signed last year to roll out such a programme.

EVN is Vietnam’s state-held company and is in charge of domestic electricity generation, transmission, distribution and trading.

Garnaik said there is a potential of replacing 100 million power inefficient bulbs with LEDs in that country. The programme could begin from March 2018.

He said EESL will help Vietnam formulate a framework based on which EVN can execute such projects. Read More…
