At least 25 trains are running late, four have been rescheduled and six others have got cancelled due to fog which has resulted in poor visibility in the national capital and adjoining areas.
On Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that winter this year is likely to be colder than last year but warmer than normal across the country, particularly in the northern region.
Earlier on Thursday, 19 trains arrived late while six others were rescheduled due to fog in Delhi and other parts of northern Indian, the Northern Railway said.
The railways has cancelled 46 trains between December 1 and February 13 in view of foggy conditions in north India.
The national transporter has devised ‘a detailed plan for cancellation and frequency reduction of trains traversing through fog-affected areas’ to manage train operations, according to a letter from the Railway Board to all general managers. Read More…
