State urban development and housing department (UDHD) has asked the Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES), an executing agency of the Indian Railways, to submit the final detailed project report (DPR) for Patna metro rail project by September 20.
The UDHD has also sent a final proposal for formation of Patna Metro Rail Corporation, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for executing metro rail project in the city, to the Centre. Sources said it is only after the formation of the corporation or authority that the final DPR for metro rail project would be tabled before the Centre.
It has also been decided that the Saguna Mor-Bailey Road-Patna Junction-Mithapur alignment be shifted north of the central alignment of Bailey Road between Hanuman Mandir and Patna high court. This will avoid overlapping of the metro rail tracks with the underpasses proposed under Lohia Path chakra project, which envisages construction of four underpasses on Bailey Road between Lalit Bhawan and high court.
