The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) has refused to waive various transmission-related charges for solar projects above 500 MW, a move that has been met with resistance from solar developers.
The Distributed Solar Power Association (DISPA), a body representing rooftop solar developers, has moved the HERC, protesting its decision to deny the waivers, The Economic Times reported.
Trends in the energy sector suggest that renewable energy will soon become mainstream, with the current tariffs for it almost at par with those for conventional power.
As a result, state governments are withdrawing concessions provided to the sector earlier. Read More
