The Madurai bench of Madras high court has directed the police and Tangedco authorities in Ramanathapuram district to submit a report by January 3 in response to a petition urging the authorities to restrain a Mumbai-based energy firm from setting up high tension electric lines on a patta land in Karisalkulam village.
Petitioner V Thannasi stated that the private firm trespassed into his property with the help of local police to set up a high tension electric line over his land without his permission. When the petition came up for hearing, Justice V Bhavani Subbarayon perused the photographs submitted before the court along with the petition and observed that the company had already erected structures on the land. Read More
