The Madras High Court today refused to stay land acquisition for the Chennai-Salem greenfield expressway. The verdict was given while hearing a petition filed by one Krishnamoorthy.
The petitioner, a resident of Pappireddipatti taluk in Dharmapuri district and owner of 2.98 acres of land, filed the plea challenging the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) move to acquire land for the ambitious eight-way project.
The case was further transferred to two judge bench. The court has also asked the State and Central governments to respond to the petition. Read More
