Consumers of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across the state are in a fix ahead of Diwali as the supply of LPG refills has been halted for another 10 days.
Owing to the technical issues at gas producing units in Mumbai and Kochi, the supply of LPG through trains to Charlapalli plant in the city’s suburbs was hit at the beginning of this month. As a result, consumers in many areas of the city are still waiting for the cylinders to be delivered.
Another reason for the delay in supply of refills is that the delivery boys at the gas agencies have gone on a long leave since Dasara. Charlapalli plant receives LPG from Mumbai and Kochi for all three gas and petroleum companies— Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Indane.
