After power distribution company, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) now plans to use smart electricity meters. The corporation will install at least 30,000 smart meters in ABD area of Indore Smart City Project including Rajwada, MOG Lines, Tori Corner, Nandlalpura, Jawahar Marg, Gorakund, Imli Bazaar etc.
Smart meter works on radio frequency and comes with high tech features like remote collection of readings, remote disconnection and re-connection, alert in case of any tampering or damage etc.
Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISDCL) officials said that a private agency is to be hired for supply, installation of smart energy meters with RF Mesh Communication Module in ABD area. The estimated cost of the project is Rs15.67crore.
