A joint venture between Japan and India has bagged the deal to develop Dhaka Metro Rail Project. This is the first ever joint venture between Japan and India that would develop a Metro Project in Bangladesh. The Dhaka Metro Rail Project, MRT line 6 will be the first rapid mass transit system in Bangladesh. This is a joint venture between Marubeni Corporation and Larsen and Turbo Ltd.
As per JapanTimes, Marubeni Corporation and Larsen and Turbo will provide electrical and mechanical systems for Dhaka MRT Line 6. The estimated cost of these parts amounts to about $55 billion. Earlier the two firms joined hands to build two power plants in Bangladesh. Marubeni has already helmed several railway projects in South Asia and now it will join hands with L&T to take on the Dhaka Metro Project. Read More
