India to sell government stakes in BPCL, some other state firms: Sitharaman

The government has agreed to sell its stakes in some state-run companies including oil refiner Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL), finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Wednesday, a decision that could help New Delhi bridge a widening fiscal gap.

The government has also approved the sale of holdings in logistics firm Container Corp of India Ltd and Shipping Corp of India, Sitharaman told reporters after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Read More
