In what comes as a big Dusshera gift to passengers, Indian Railways has announced that Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims will be able to travel between Delhi and Katra by Vande Bharat Express. This would be the second Vande Bharat Express in the country, the first running between Delhi and Varanasi.
The trial run for the second Vande Bharat Express, earlier known as Train 18, has been completed, confirmed Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in a tweet. The timing of running the new train couldn’t have been better as the festive season is about to begin.
“I am extremely happy to inform that the trial run of second ‘Make in India’ Vande Bharat Express train from New Delhi to Katra, the shrine of Maa Vaishno Devi, has been completed,” Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted on Wednesday.
“This train will be started commercially for Maa Vaishno Devi pilgrims in Navratri. Jai Mata Di”, he added. Read more
