Indian Railways has successfully reduced the accidents to a record low last year. It had claimed best ever safety record with only 29 deaths till January 1 during FY 18-19. The railways has worked on all front to improve its safety record – from removing unmanned level crossings to equipping its men with modern technology. Now, the railways is planning to introduce an app to make track maintenance work faster.
According to a Hindustan report, the railways has developed an app named SABAL. The app will connect all the departments involved in the maintenance, repair and replacement of the tracks. The app will enable faster approval for track-related works and the go-ahead can be given even using an SMS.
