Indian Railways has brought in greater flexibility for train passengers with this move. It has made it possible for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC) to relax the timing for ticket cancellation or TDR filing. On its official Twitter account, IRCTC said travellers can cancel or file TDR up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train from the boarding station. This is applicable to people who have a confirmed ticket but do not want to travel at the last minute. This procedure can be done on either IRCTC official website irctc.co.in or IRCTC Rail Connect App.
Here’s what you need to know:
Cancellation of ticket
Cancellation would be confirmed online and the refund would be credited back to the account used for booking as for normal Internet tickets. If there is any partial cancellation of ticket, please ensure that a fresh e-reservation slip (Electronic Reservation Slip) is printed separately as done for the original ticket. Read More
