Indian Railways To Run Diwali Special Trains To Various Destinations

For the convenience of passengers during the festive occasion of Diwali and with a view to meet the travel demand during the season, the Western Railway will run five special trains on a special fare to various destinations with total 64 services. The Indian Railways has planned to run 4,000 special trains for the festive season. On September 19, Minister of State, Railways, Manoj Sinha said, “In the next 40 days, we will celebrate the Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath. So, we are introducing additional trains to facilitate holiday travelling between October 15 and October 30”. Sinha had said the ministry was also considering cancelling the leave of all the staff to deal with the holiday rush. Last year, the railways had run 3,800 special trains during the festival season.
