A week after TOI reported about railway proposal to extend, India’s fastest train Gatimaan Express up to Jhansi and Gwalior, on Saturday, the North Central Railwayconfirmed and stated, that train will now offer its services to passengers and tourist up to Bundelkhand region.
After making its maiden journey in April 2016, India’s fastest train, Gatimaan Express, which covers 187 km in 100 minutes between Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra Cantt stations, will now extend its service to Gwalior in first phase and cover 306 km in 3 hours 15 minutes, reaching at 11:25 am. The train service will start from February 19, later from April 1, the service will extend up to Jhansi in second phase, covering 403 km in total 4 hours 25 minutes and will reach at 12:35 pm.
Currently same distance is covered by Shatbadi express by 4 hours 43 minutes and Taj Express by 7 hours 10 minutes. Both the trains ferry over 2,000 passengers each daily up to Jhansi. Read More…
