Railways Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the city next month and most probably will lay the foundation of gauge conversion (GC) work of Mhow-Khandwa section. He will also start GC work of Fatehabad-Ujjain section and second bridge on Gambir River in Ujjain.
After getting railway portfolio on Sept 3, this will be Goyal’s maiden visit to the city. Though, he visited the city several times to attend programmes organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as he is a CA. An official source said that the rail minister was coming to the city on the instruction of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who is also an MP from the city.
