The industrialists of Nashik on Friday warned the state government of launching a severe agitation against the power tariff hike. They have set a deadline of January 15 for the authorities to roll back the hike.
Representatives of various industrial associations took part in the meeting convened by the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA) to discuss the issue.
The deliberations, which took place in the meeting hall of Ambad Industries & Manufacturers’ Association (AIMA), was attended by office-bearers of NIMA, AIMA, other industrial associations and representatives of consumers associations.
“There has been an excessive hike in power tariff, which has impacted the industrial fraternity in the state. MACCIA has taken initiatives to create awareness among industries against the hike in power rates.
We will wage severe agitations against the state government if the hike is not rolled back,” said MACCIA president Santosh Mandlecha.
