Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (MPUVNL) has invited bids for setting up rooftop solar Photo Voltaic projects of 10.8 Megawatt (Mw) capacity for industries located near Bhopal. As part of the tender, 164 industrial beneficiaries will procure solar power under Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model.
“This is the first solar rooftop tender for industries under demand aggregation model in India, under which developers were selected following a reverse e-auction process. Discovered solar tariff is Rs 4.61 per unit in comparison with DISCOM’s tariff of more than Rs 7.5 per unit. The tender aims to save Rs 2.39 crore during its first year and a cumulative Rs 233 crore over 25 years,” an official statement read.
The beneficiaries include small, medium and large industries having different financial profile, contract demand, electricity consumption profile and rooftop size. Also, the industries are grouped into three packages of 3.6 Mw each. Read more
