Daily commuters of the Deccan Queen can finally let out a sigh of relief as the Central Railway authorities have given in to their demand of plying the train from platform No.1 instead of platform No.5.
The same has been done against the backdrop of several complaints made by these frequent passengers about the struggle they have to go through every morning to reach platform No.5.
According to the railway authorities, the train was diverted to platform No.5 due to congestion and preference being given to long-distance trains which comparatively have more carriages.
Deccan Queen, the well-liked train which travels between Pune and Mumbai, will now be departing from the same platform, which it did 90 years ago, from June 1.
This benefits daily passengers who can save the hassle of crossing the footbridge as platform No.1 is closest to the main gate of the Pune railway station. Read More
