After the great deluge of August 2018, Kerala has learnt better to survive. The state has set up a disaster management crisis team to restore power supply in the state when in distress and also help other states in need. When Cyclone Fani hit Odisha earlier this month, Kerala offered support to the distressed state.
Before leaving for his European tour, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered help to Odisha and wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that Kerala would extend all support to help them through the crisis.
He also directed Kerala State Electricity Board to deploy teams to restore power supply in cyclone-affected areas of Odisha.
KSEB Chairman NS Pillai said, “We have deployed a 200-member team headed by Deputy Chief Engineer Mosses Rajkumar to restore power supply in the cyclone-affected regions of Odisha.” Read more
