The Carriage Repair Workshop of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Mancheswar here has started full-fledged maintenance work of the Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches for express and superfast trains.
LHB coaches are modern ones that come equipped with anti-telescopic technology to prevent them from crumpling and piling on top of each other in case of an accident. It ensures safety of passengers in case of accidents and even accommodates more people than conventional coaches.
