As per latest data released by the Ministry of Power, only 28,594 households in India are left to be electrified for the country to achieve 100 per cent electrification, reports Financial Express.
Out of the unelectrified households, 20,134 of them are in Chhattisgarh and the remaining 8,460 are in Rajasthan.
“The task of household electrification is almost complete. As many as 2.5 crore unelectrified households were identified. All willing households will (under Saubhagya scheme) be provided electricity connection by March 2019,” Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had said in his budget speech on 1 February 2019.
The unelectrified households form just 0.1 per cent of the total residences in the country and they cluster around in five districts of the two states. Read More
