Karnataka is showing the rest of the country, how to gradually transform the energy sources from non renewable to sustainable. With a total production capacity of of 12.64 gigawatts, Karnataka has emerged as the leader in producing renewable energy in India.
In 2018 alone Karnataka has added 5 gigawatts of renewable energy and now generates nearly half to state’s energy capacity is renewable sources and powers power over 10 lakh homes.
Karnataka, which is the only Indian state to generate 5 gigawatts of power from solar also produces energy from other sources like wind energy which contributes 4.7 gigawatts, and hydro, biomass, and, other sources, comprise 2.6 gigawatts. Read More
