The coverage of cooking gas in the country has increased to nearly 90 per cent in the last five years according to Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan.
Speaking at the Asia LPG Summit 2019, Pradhan said, “In January 2019, LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna have crossed the six crore mark. The coverage of LPG in the country has now reached to 90 per cent rising from about 55 per cent in 2014.”
“We are confident to meet our target of disbursing eight crore PMUY connections,” he added.
