The Masjid foot over-bridge (FOB) in Mumbai, completed in 33 days, was inaugurated on January 1. The establishment of the bridge was a New Year’s gift from Central Railways to its commuters.
The FOB was built at a cost of Rs 1.2 crore, and is expected to bolster fast dispersal of commuters from the station areas, especially during the peak hours, Times of India reported. It must be noted that the bridge was completed 12 days prior to its deadline. The foot overbridge is meant for platforms of both the main and the Harbour line.
Central Railways tweeted, “New Year Gift Opening tomorrow! Dismantling old FOB to constructing a new, wider FOB in a record 33 days at Masjid railway station. Railways appreciate the cooperation given by all commuters during this period.” Read More
